The Environment

Aldgate Press were pioneers in the use of recycled papers - all bought from Paperback. All our inks are vegetable-based. We recycle all our waste paper, plates and chemicals. We output 'direct to plate', thus avoiding film and its associated chemicals. We are located next to Aldgate East tube station, enabling our clients to visit us by public transport.

Designers

We place your imagination and creativity within an affordable, client-friendly, budget. We are able to handle work on both Mac and Windows platforms, using the latest versions of industry-standard programs.

PDF Workflow

Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) allows for greater visibility during pre-press, and its smaller files speeds up production. Correctly-generated PDFs contain all the elements they need (fonts, images etc) to be output to plate. Digital proofs can be exchanged between clients, designers, and the printer. Please contact us for further information on producing PDFs for our workflow.

If the world of pdfs, jpegs and tiffs is unfamiliar to you we'll give you free advice to enable you to submit your document to us without incurring extra artwork charges.

Plates for Printers

Our new Heidelberg 'Direct to Plate' system will output plates of various sizes and thicknesses. Most plates can be processed the same day and sometimes (if you ask nicely) within the hour. Call us with your specifications and we'll give you a price per plate.

Large Format inkjets

We can output high quality, large format, inkjets (up to A1). Please contact us for prices.
